Senior Sustainability Consultant

Essex

A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Sustainability Consultant to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile UK development projects while helping shape the organisation's sustainability strategy and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of sustainability services across a diverse range of projects.

  • Manage and deliver BREEAM assessments, ensuring high-quality outputs and certification success.

  • Undertake Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) using tools such as OneClick LCA, providing clear and actionable insights.

  • Conduct circularity assessments and provide expert consultancy on material efficiency and sustainable design.

  • Prepare technical sustainability reports, planning statements, and client-facing documentation to an exemplary standard.

  • Present findings and strategies confidently to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Keep up-to-date with evolving sustainability and environmental legislation and translate requirements into practical project guidance.

  • Explore and integrate new and emerging sustainability themes into the consultancy's service offering.

  • Support the delivery of additional sustainability-related assessments such as LEED, Ska, and WELL Building Standard.

About You

  • BREEAM accredited professional/assessor with demonstrable experience delivering certified assessments.

  • A formal qualification in sustainability, environmental management, the built environment, or a related field.

  • Strong background in UK sustainability consultancy, with a solid understanding of relevant legislation.

  • Proven experience conducting LCAs and using recognised LCA software.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a track record of producing high-quality technical reports.

  • Confident presenter with the ability to engage a wide audience.

  • Proactive, curious, and motivated to drive innovation within the sustainability space.
